Dr. Bill Akpinar is the director of the Center for Healing in New York. He has successfully integrated Eastern and Western Medicine in his field for over 20 years. Having served as director of two major teaching hospital-based anesthesiology and pain management programs in the New York City area, Dr. Bill continues to train medical, dental, and podiatry residents. He holds numerous board certifications and fellowships, including acupuncture, pain management, forensic medicine, forensic dentistry, traumatic distress, as well as herbal and Tibetan medicine.

Dr. Bill thrives on the use of many non-traditional techniques in combination with his anesthesiology background in the field of headache and TMJ pain disorders, including music therapy (he is an accomplished musician), Chinese Heal Martial Arts, such as Chi Kung (he holds several black belts and practices various “internal” healing martial arts styles), oxygenation therapy, and has been trained by noted Chinese, Indian, Shaolin, Sufi, and Tibetan healing masters in the course of his career (including a mentorship with the Dali Lama’s personal physician, while in Tibet).

As medical director of the United States Karate Team, under the direction of his teacher and world Karate champion Terrence “Tokey” Hill, Dr. Bill has had the opportunity to apply his healing skills to the team in his travels with them. Dr. Bill now serves as medical director of the University of Natural Medicine, Santa Fe, New Mexico and is constantly searching for ways to bridge Eastern and Western Medicine and bring this knowledge to the public.

Richard Brady, Ph.D., R.Ph.

Dr. Brady is a licensed practicing clinical pharmacist, entrepreneur and CEO of AlternaCare Services, Inc., a service contract company that offers Disease and Medication Therapy Management Services through collaborative practice agreements with his patients, their primary care physician and /or specialist through ACS’s clinical services division.

Dr. Brady is a native Floridian and his interests and hobbies outside of his practice include athletics, aviation (fixed wing pilot), music (composer and musician for piano and Bb clarinet), water sports, masonry projects, apiary science (Honey Bee Keeping) and martial arts.

Dr. Brady has received training in Clinical Nutrition and Traditional Chinese Medicine along with his traditional allopathic training as a Clinical Pharmacist and practiced clinical nutrition in physician’s office and in weight loss centers combining his expertise in both traditional and holistic care. Dr. Brady strongly believes in the maxim “a house divided can’t stand.” Having practiced pharmacy for 34 years he has witnessed health care practitioners fighting each other in order to protect what they consider to be their own turf losing the rewards that are available when clinicians practice collaboratively. He believes that the patient benefits when allopathic and holistic practitioners act as an interdisciplinary team employing allopathic therapies for acute and trauma care and holistic therapies for chronic care.       

Dr. Brady’s post secondary education includes a B.S. degree with a major in Zoology form the University of Florida, a B.Sc. in Pharmacy from Samford University, a Doctorate in Pharmacy from Broadmore University and a Doctorate in the Natural Health Sciences from the University of Natural Medicine. He is currently enrolled in a Doctorate degree program at the University of Colorado Denver.

Sheila Rockley, Ph.D.

Dr. Rockley possess an in-depth background in naturopathic care for animals and humans alike, with an emphasis on nutrition, incorporation of conservative therapies and an overall integration of Eastern and Western medicine practices.   Dr. Rockley has seen remarkable results in animal and human naturopathic practice and has published works showing the efficacy of naturopathic care.

Dr. Rockley was born and raised in Hamburg, Germany. She has had an interest in alternative medicine since early childhood and has experienced the successes of an integrative health delivery system. With nearly 20 years of health care experience, in early 2000 she began consulting independently with health care organizations and recently served as the Vice President of Physical Health Solutions for United Health Group. Her most recent research focused on the positive impact that could be attained should US health insurance companies offer chiropractic care as a covered benefit.

In addition to decreasing overall medical spending in the US, her naturopathic training and interest also lies in incorporating and utilizing naturopathic medicine both for animals and humans; allowing them to live healthier and happier lives. Jeanne Rose, B.A.

Jeanne Rose is Founder and President of the Institute of Aromatic & Herbal Studies, which she established in 1988. Following graduation with a BA in Zoology and Marine Biology from San Jose State University, she continued her education at the University of Miami Marine laboratory with the study of Marine Ecology. Ms. Rose continued her studies working for the University of Florida Agricultural Experiments Stations as a research assistant in entomology. She has continued to upgrade her studies with classes in Chinese medicine, Natural Health, Hawaiian Cultural Studies, Organic Chemistry and the Chemistry of Natural Products and has a life long commitment to learning and studying health and complementary practices for healing.

Jeanne Rose has taught at the California School of Herbal Studies and is on the faculty at COBHA(College of Botanical Healing and Aromatherapy). Jeanne Rose is the Executive Director of the Aromatic Plant Project and past-President of the National Association for Health and Aromatherapy (NAHA). She also acts as a Consultant in Aromatherapy, in the SPA industry and in herbal medicine both nationally and internationally. Janet Lynn Roseman, Ph.D.

Dr. Janet Lynn Roseman specializes in Spirituality and Medicine and Compassionate Care.  She is a Clinical Assistant Professor in Family Medicine at Nova Southeastern School of Osteopathic Medicine and has worked at Brown University’s School of Medicine conducting research in Spirituality and Medicine. Dr. Todd Rowe has practiced homeopathic medicine for 20 years. He earned his doctorate of Medicine at Rush Medical School, Chicago, Illinois, and completed his psychiatric training at the University of Vermont.
